Watercolor & Paint Marker // 12x16 // 2021
Inspired by a dream where my roommate was taunting a scorpion and I begged her not to. It jumped onto my side and for a brief second I felt the fear rise. I then told myself I get to trust that as long as I acknowledge it, be calm and become friends with it, I will be okay.
#expressions series // watercolor & ink // 11x15 // 2021
Inspired by a dream where screws started migrating out of my head. It was uncomfortable and weirded me out, but it didn’t physically hurt and there was no blood. I kept asking “why?” and “how?” as I pulled them out one by one.
My lesson from my interpretation is that I’m getting rid of thoughts that have been screwed in (whether by me or someone else) that no longer serve me.
Watercolor, Ink & Paint Marker // 12x18 // 2022
I lost a beautiful artist friend recently and creating this through the grief and tears has been so cathartic. Eric Matthews, your colorful soul is missed on earth, so now you live in this piece, in my creativity, in my heart. Thank you for guiding me through in a constructive way and always being supportive of my work. I love you.
Watercolor and pen // 11x15 // 2021
I drew this and was almost finished when I met someone from Greece through a leadership program that looked very much like this. He had spent years of his life being closed off and you could see what it had done to him in his face.
Watercolor // 11x15 // 2021
Inspired by my leadership team of 15 individuals that raised $40,704 in just 24 days combined with my fascination of healing waters.
